Historikk og statistikk

Harald Østberg Amundsen
 Harald Østberg Amundsen became the overall winner of the 2023/24 Tour
de Ski. The Norwegian won two of the seven stages: the 20km pursuit
freestyle in Toblach (1 January) and 20km pursuit classic style in Davos (4
January).
 In the Tour de Ski, Amundsen was the only man to finish inside the top six
in all five distance events (3rd, 1st, 1st, 6th and 5th).
 Amundsen has recorded the most wins (3) and podiums (6) in men’s World
Cup distance events this season.
 Amundsen is the leader in the World Cup distance standings this season
after 11 of the 20 events that count towards this classification.
Friedrich Moch
 Friedrich Moch recorded his best career World Cup results by finishing
second in the final stage and general classification of the 2023/24 Tour de
Ski.
 Moch could become the first male skier representing Germany to win an
individual World Cup distance event since Janosch Brugger’s triumph in the
15km pursuit classic style in Lillehammer on 2 December 2018 (stage in
the 3-Days Tour).
 Moch could become the first male skier representing Germany to win a
World Cup event on home snow since Axel Teichmann did so in the 15km
pursuit classic style in Oberhof on 30 December 2013 (stage in the Tour de
Ski).
Other contenders
 This race will mark the first men’s World Cup distance event in Oberhof
since 28 December 2013 when Canada’s Alex Harvey won the 4.5km
freestyle (stage in the Tour de Ski).
 Perttu Hyvärinen (10km classic style in Toblach on 31 December) and
Jules Lapierre (10km freestyle in Val di Fiemme on 7 January, final stage)
both celebrated their first career World Cup victories during the Tour de
Ski.
 Harald Østberg Amundsen (3) and Johannes Høsflot Klæbo (2) are the
only men to have won multiple World Cup distance events this season.
 A total of eight different skiers have won at least one men’s World Cup
distance event this season. This already is the highest tally since 2019/20
(9).
 Johannes Høsflot Klæbo is joint-sixth alongside Martin Johnsrud Sundby
(both 22) in the all-time men’s list in terms of World Cup distance events
wins. Petter Northug (23) is in fifth place.
Hugo Lapalus claimed his first career World Cup podium places by
finishing third in the last stage and final standings of the 2023/24 Tour de
Ski.
 Cyril Fähndrich was another man to record his first career World Cup
podium during this season’s Tour de Ski: third in the 15km classic style in
Val di Fiemme on 6 January. His older sister Nadine Fähndrich has five
World Cup wins to her name.
 Henrik Dønnestad – who replaced Klæbo – also recorded his best career
World Cup result in the Tour de Ski: second in the 20km pursuit classic
style in Davos on 4 January.
 William Poromaa managed to achieve his best career World Cup result in
this season’s Tour de Ski as well: second in the 15km classic style in Val di
Fiemme on 6 January.
 Poromaa (one second place and five third places) is still chasing his first
career World Cup triumph. Sweden has not won a men’s World Cup
distance event since Marcus Hellner’s victory in the 15km pursuit freestyle
in Quebec on 19 March 2017 (World Cup Final).
