Norway won the opening men’s World Cup relay event this season, in
Gällivare on 3 December. Sweden and Germany finished second and third
respectively.
Norway won four of the last five men’s World Cup relay events. The
exception was a third place behind Italy (1st) and Sweden (2nd) in Toblach
last season on 5 February 2023.
A Norwegian team has finished on the podium in each of the last 17 World
Cup men’s relay events. Norway won 13 of those 17 events. Russia (3) and
Italy (1) won the other four events in this run.
Sweden won the only previous men’s relay World Cup event held on
German snow (including West and East Germany), in Oberstdorf on 16
February 1986. Norway finished second and Soviet Union finished third.
Italy won the only men’s World Cup relay event last season in Toblach on
5 February 2023. Italy won ahead of Sweden (+0.6 seconds), Norway
(+0.6) and Norway II (+1.4).
Germany has won six men’s World Cup relay events, but not since a win in
Gällivare on 19 November 2006. Germany finished third in Gällivare earlier
this season.
