Om 24-timers Le Mans
24-timersløpet på Le Mans (fransk: 24 heures du Mans) er et berømt sportsvognsløp og langdistanseløp som arrangeres på Circuit de la Sarthe i nærheten av Le Mans i Frankrike. Løpet blir derfor gjerne omtalt som bare Le Mans.
Det første løpet ble arrangert 26. og 27. mai 1923 og det har vært holdt hvert år i juni, med unntak av 1956 (juli), 1968 (september) og 2020 (september), og har vært avlyst kun i 1936 (på grunn av økonomi) og fra 1940 til 1948 (på grunn av andre verdenskrig).
Løpet ble først arrangert for å vise at bilen som fremkomstmiddel tålte store påkjenninger. Derfor ble det arrangert et 24-timers løp. Første året gjennomførte vinneren ca. 2 200 km i løpet av de 24 timene – en snittfart på ca. 92 km/t. I 1971 ble distanserrekorden satt med ca. 5 300 km – en snittfart på ca. 222 km/t.
