Om Østfold Ultra Trail Challenge
There are two races which fall under the Østfold Ultra Trail Challenge running festival: the ØUTC 60 KM and the ØUTC 130 KM (GNT qualify) distance. Both races are self-supported (no drop bags or aid stations), GPS-navigation races on unmarked trails through southern Norwegian wilderness. Shower facilities next to the finish line at the training studio Toppform Fitness will be available.
The ØUTC 60 KM starts in Spydeberg and runs to Moss through the Østfold forest worthy of the title ‘Bèrghem Ultra’. It follows a 60 KM trail and covers a 1500m terrain profile. It starts on Saturday the 29th of September, 2023 at 0900 and has a cut off point of 15 hours. For map details: click on ØUTC 60 KM. The overall winner of ØUTC 60 will win a free entry to the Bèrghem Ultra 130K 2024.
The ØUTC 130 KM starts in Moss and runs to Spydeberg and back to Moss through the Østfold forest worthy of the title ‘Bèrghem Ultra’. It follows a 130 KM trail and covers a 2500m terrain profile. It starts on Friday the 30th of September, 2023 at 2200 and has a cut off point of 24 hours. For map details: click on ØUTC 120 KM.
Be surprised by how much pristine nature exists in Østfold. The most challenging part of the trail is from Mørk to Kirkebyden in Våler municipality, which is indescribably wild and beautiful. This is a physically and mentally demanding race in terms of navigating. But it’s ideal for anyone who loves nature at her best, and the distance is perfect for every ultra runner, except those not looking for a true challenge. 😉
