Om rennene
Nozomi Maruyama (JPN)
● Nozomi Maruyama (JPN) won each of the first three women’s World Cup events
of this season, before finishing second in Falun (Sweden) and third and fourth in
Wisla (Poland).
● On 25 October 2025, Nozomi Maruyama won the Grand Prix event in
Klingenthal, securing the women’s overall title in the process. Nika Prevc (SLO)
came second that day.
● Nozomi Maruyama has registered one World Cup result in Klingenthal. On 14
December 2019, she finished 31st.
Nika Prevc (SLO)
● Nika Prevc (SLO) recorded her 24th individual World Cup victory by winning the
second women’s event in Wisla last week. She equalled her brother Peter Prevc
(SLO), who also won 24 individual World Cup events. No Slovenian ski jumper
won more than 24.
● Nika Prevc’s 24 individual victories in the World Cup rank her third on the alltime women’s list. Prevc is closing in on Sara Takanashi (JPN, 63) and Maren
Lundby (NOR, 30).
● Nika Prevc only competed in Klingenthal in December 2021. In her debut season
in the World Cup, she finished 25th and 26th.
Other contenders
● Anna Odine Strøm (NOR) won the first women’s event in Wisla last week,
which was Norway’s 200th victory in an individual World Cup event (men and
women combined).
● For Anna Odine Strøm it was her first individual World Cup triumph since 18
February 2023, when she won in Rasnov (Romania).
● Nika Vodan (SLO) came second in the second women’s event in Wisla last
week. It was her first individual podium in the World Cup since a third place in
Trondheim (Norway) on 12 March 2024.
● Nika Vodan’s most recent individual victory in the World Cup was in Lahti
(Finland), on 1 March 2024.
● The women with the most individual World Cup podium finishes without a single
victory are Selina Freitag (GER, 10 second places, 4 third places), Abigail
Strate (CAN, 3 second places, 4 third places) and Lisa Eder (AUT, 1 second
place, 6 third places).
● Abigail Strate can become the fourth Canadian ski jumper to win a World Cup
event, after Steve Collins (won one in 1980), Horst Bulau (won 13 between
1981 and 1983), and Alexandria Loutitt (won two between 2023 and 2025).
● Eirin Maria Kvandal (NOR) won the most recent women’s World Cup event on
German snow, in Willingen on 1 February 2025.
● Eirin Maria Kvandal has recorded a top 10 finish in the last 19 individual
women’s World Cup events in which she competed, since a 39th place in
Zhangjiakou (China) on 15 December 2014.
Germany
● Katharina Schmid (GER) can reach her first podium in an individual World Cup
event since a second-place finish in Villach (AUT) on 6 January 2025.
● Katharina Schmid has claimed two podium finishes in World Cup events in
Klingenthal. In 2019 and 2021 she recorded a third place.
● Katharina Schmid has won three women’s individual World Cup events on
German snow; in Titisee-Neustadt (December 2022), in Hinterzarten (January
2023) and in Willingen (February 2023).
● None of Selina Freitag’s (GER) 14 individual podium finishes in the World Cup
were achieved on German snow. Her best individual results in front of a home
crowd were fifth-place finishes in Titisee-Neustadt (11 December 2022),
Hinterzarten (28 January 2023) and Oberstdorf (1 January 2025).
● Agnes Reisch (GER) has claimed one individual World Cup podium finish, a
second place in Lake Placid (United States) on 8 February 2025. According to
the German team she has been struggling “with a cold” in recent days and will
be kept away from her team-mates as much as possible to reduce the risk of
illness spreading through the squad.
