Nika Prevc
● Nika Prevc (SLO) started 2026 by claiming the overall victory in the third
edition of the Two Nights Tour, on 1 January. She had also won the first two
editions.
● Nika Prevc (SLO) has won 27 individual World Cup events, which ranks her
third on the all-time women’s list. Prevc is closing in on Sara Takanashi (JPN,
63) and Maren Lundby (NOR, 30).
● Nika Prevc (SLO) has competed in all six women’s World Cup events held in
Villach (2022/23, 2023/24 and 2024/25).
● In January 2024, Nika Prevc (SLO) won both events in Villach. Last year,
Prevc finished second and third in Villach.
● Nika Prevc (SLO) has won the most recent women’s World Cup events held
on Austrian snow: in Hinzenbach on 22 and 23 February 2025.
Abigail Strate
● Abigail Strate (CAN) won the most recent women’s World Cup event, in
Oberstdorf on 1 January. It was her first career World Cup victory.
● Abigail Strate became the second Canadian woman to win a World Cup event,
after Alexandria Loutitt whose two victories came in Japan (Zao in 2023 and
Sapporo in 2025).
Zeng Ping
● Zeng Ping (CHN) celebrated her 21st birthday by finishing second in
Oberstdorf on 1 January. She made history by becoming the first Chinese ski
jumper to reach the podium in a World Cup event.
● One day earlier, Zeng Ping (CHN) finished sixth in Garmisch-Partenkirchen,
which was already the best result for a Chinese ski jumper.
● Zeng Ping (CHN) can become the first Chinese athlete to win a World Cup
event in one of the four traditional FIS sports (Alpine Skiing, Cross-Country
Skiing, Nordic Combined, Ski Jumping).
Other contenders
● Coming to Villach, the top six in the women’s World Cup standings represent
six different countries (and three different continents).
● Nozomi Maruyama (JPN) has won the only women’s normal hill event this
World Cup season. On 28 November, she won in Falun (Sweden) ahead of
Nika Prevc (SLO) and Lisa Eder (AUT).
● Selina Freitag (GER) claimed her first podium finishes of this season’s World
Cup during the Two Nights Tour. She finished second in GarmischPartenkirchen and third in Oberstdorf.
● Selina Freitag (GER) has collected 16 individual podium finishes in the World
Cup, but has yet to claim her first victory (11 second places, 5 third places).
● Katharina Schmid (GER) has won 19 individual World Cup events, which
ranks her fourth in the all-time women’s list. Her most recent victory came in
Villach, on 5 January 2025.
● Sara Takanashi (JPN) has won 63 individual World Cup events, at least 33
more than any other woman. She claimed her most recent podium finish on 3
February 2024, when she finished second in Willingen (Germany).
Lisa Eder
● Lisa Eder (AUT) can become the first Austrian woman to win a World Cup
event since 26 January 2025, when Jacqueline Seifriedsberger won in Zao
(Japan).
● Lisa Eder (AUT) has claimed eight podium finishes in individual World Cup
events, but is still chasing her first victory (1 second place, 7 third places).
● Last year, Eva Pinkelnig (AUT) won in front of a home crowd in Villach (on 6
January 2025).
● Lisa Eder (AUT) has yet to reach the podium in an individual World Cup event
in Villach. Her best result was a fourth place, which she recorded on 4 January
2024 and on 5 January 2025.
