Format
The Grand Chess Tour is made up of five events, consisting of two classical events and three rapid & blitz events. The Superunited Rapid & Blitz Croatia is the third event of the tour and the second in the rapid and blitz format.
The rapid portion of the tournament features a 10-player single round-robin format, with a time control of 25 minutes for the entire game, and a 10-second increment starting on move one.
The blitz portion features a 10-player double round-robin format, with a time control of five minutes for the entire game, and a two-second increment starting on move one.
In the rapid and blitz events, players are awarded:
- 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss in a rapid game
- 1 point for a win, 0.5 points for a draw, and 0 points for a loss in a blitz game
